Spot the Bike Part Competition ... 04 September 2010

Spot bike parts in Shop Windows and WIN Top Prizes.  The competition runs from Saturday 4th September to Sunday 12 September.  Forms with information about the prizes on offer and the participating shops can be collected from Wellington Town Council Office, Wellington Community Office, Wellington Library in Fore Street, Wellington Festival Office 14 South Street (Little Paprika Shop),  and the Wellington Weekly News Reception Desk in High Street.  Completed forms to be returned to the Town Council Office 28 Fore Street, Wellington by 10.am on Monday 13 September.  Winners will be announced on Tuesday, 14 September, the day of the Tour of Britain Race passes through Wellington.

World Wellington Boot Thowing Champoinship ... 11 September 2010

This is not just for top throwers.  Everyone welcome.  Children, Adults and Team events.  A Family Fun Day with stalls and activities.  Also a Welly Boot Planting or Painting, or both, competition for Children, Wellington Silver Brass Band, Wellington Majorettes and Bouncy Castle.  Entrance to the event is free.  Entrance to the event Adults £1 Children 50p. Teams £5.

Music at Wellington Park ... 12 September 2010

The 'Voice of the People' Choir will be performing at Wellington's Award Winning Edwardian Park from 12noon to 1.00pm followed by Taunton Concert Band from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.  Light Refreshments - Tea, Coffee, Soft Drinks, Ice Cream provided by the Friends of Wellington Park.

Graffiti Classics ... 14 September 2010

Graffiti Classics Concert.  Graffiti Classics have moved the Classical String Quartet into the 21st Century.  Not gypsy, not trad, not classical but 16 strings, 8 dancing feet and 4 voices.  Scintillating slap-stick with brilliant arrangements and mischevious humour.   £10 for adults, £4 for under 18,or family tickets for £25.

Tour of Britain Day ... 14 September 2010

The Tour of Britain Cycling Race will be passing through Wellington at approx. 12pm.  Come and cheer on the riders.  Wellesley Park Primary School Choir will be performing outside Wellington Baptist Church at 10am. Hog Roast outside of the Co-operative Store in Fore Street.

 

Venue: The Riders will be coming through Wellington from Nynehead through the High Street and up South Street

Family Fun Day ... 19 September 2010

As the final event in our Wellington Festival Fortnight come to the Family Fun Day in support of WAG (Wellington Action Group for dogs), the Wellington Basins Volunteer Group and the RNIB at the Basins.  Boat racing, Chalky the Clown, puppeteers, a Band and the WAG Dog Show which starts at 11am.

PS.  Don't forget Wellington Carnival on Saturday 25 September
