Rockwell Green ward
James Hunt
Email:

jameshunt@wellingtontowncouncil.co.uk

I moved to Wellington in 1978, the year of the deep snow, and attended Court Fields until 1981 before doing ‘A’ levels at Somerset College then an Open University Computing degree.
I worked in the NHS for 18 years before redundancy forced me into the life of the self employed.  I now run a contracting company in Wellington, part of which includes graphic design and hopefully, in the near future, video advertising.
I have a great passion for music and play guitar in two local bands.  One is a rock band called Burning Chrome, which I formed with friends 16 years ago and is still going strong.  The other is a more mellow acoustic band called Best Kept Secret and has been playing locally for 6 years.

Like many people I became disillusioned with the state of our country and wondered why nobody did anything about it.  I then remembered a small philosophy I once read “Don’t wait for something to happen, get busy and make it happen yourself”.
My decision to stand for the town council was because I want to get busy and do something to help improve our lives and believe that even the smallest things can make a big difference.  I know Wellington Town Council already does a fantastic job for the town and now I can help make our town even better.
I support the Trains for Wellington campaign, will gladly join our Mayor and the other councillors in their efforts to realise a northern relief road and will be just as happy to help with those little things that can make a big difference.
