A303 announcement

Businesses in Devon, Cornwall and Somerset have become increasingly concerned at the Highways Agency's recent announcement that it intended to close the A303 for 6 kilometres near Mere for 12 weeks from 9 February 2009 for essential carriageway repairs.

The consequence of such a long closure, when businesses will be struggling towards Easter, could have been catastrophic.
