Together in Tone

Music, wellbeing and community connection across Wellington and Wiveliscombe Local Community Network.

Together in Tone is a community music project that celebrates the power of music to support wellbeing, reduce isolation and bring people together across Wellington and the surrounding area.

What is Together in Tone?

Together in Tone focuses on connecting and strengthening existing music activity, supporting local groups and musicians, and creating opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to take part in music in ways that feel welcoming, inclusive and low-pressure.

The project is being shaped through listening and collaboration, building on what already exists locally and exploring how music can reach people who may not currently be accessing it.

What the Project Aims to Do

💚 Support wellbeing through creativity and social connection
💚 Strengthen links between choirs, bands, musicians and community groups
💚 Improve visibility of local music activity and events

Project Coordination

Together in Tone is coordinated by Caz Besterman, a community music practitioner and educator with a passion for using music to bring people together.

Caz has many years’ experience working with choirs, bands and community music groups of all kinds, supporting projects ranging from informal singing groups to larger collaborative activity. She is particularly interested in music as a tool for wellbeing, connection and inclusion.

Since moving to Somerset, Caz has become an active part of the local music scene and is keen to listen, learn and work alongside the many groups already making music happen in Wellington and the surrounding area.

Her role within Together in Tone is to connect people, support collaboration, and help shape opportunities that feel realistic, welcoming and community-led.
