Wellington Warm Welcome Café

Wellington Town Council was awarded £12,000 from Somerset Community Foundation’s Help Through Winter Find to support local residents through the colder months.

This funding is helping us run the Wellington Warm Welcome Café at the Kings Arms Community Hub, a warm space that is open to everyone from January 2026 until March 2026. This warm space offers hot drinks, light lunches, activities, and a friendly space. The knowledgeable staff at the Kings Arms can help signpost you to any available support and have lots of resources available for a variety of needs.

The grant from Somerset Community Foundation has also allowed us to invest in new kitchen equipment at the hub, allowing us not only to deliver the Wellington Warm Welcome Café but also support additional community activities and future projects throughout the year.

The Warm Welcome Café is run by Jemma Stovell, our Community Hub Kitchen Co-ordinator who has joined us to see this project through. Jemma has experience working is support roles at the Taunton YMCA and Second Step, a mental health charity based in Bristol. Paired with her hospitality experience, she is an excellent fit to run this warm space.
