The District Council is responsible for these services and has a dedicated team of six or seven staff.
Due to financial pressures, District has over time reduced the programme to six cuts per year of roadside verges and green spaces, starting in early March. The Town Council then pays for two extra cuts to top up the service as required.
The District Council also carries out two rounds of weedkilling annually, and again the Town Council pays for an additional treatment if it is felt necessary.
