Wellington Piper Roy McCubbin

Piper, Roy McCubbin pictured here in full ceremonial dress, commemorating the 75th Victory in Europe (VE day) anniversary by playing Battle’s O’er at 3pm on Friday 8th May. Roy had originally been commissioned as official piper at Wellington Town Council’s event to celebrate the end of the second world war, and join the nation in toasting its heroes. As the celebration, sadly, could not take place, Roy performed his tribute on his own.
