Coronation of King Charles III

Wellington Town Council, in partnership with the Friends of Wellington Park and Wellington Rugby Club were proud to present a day of family fun in celebration of the Coronation of King Charles III.

 

The Friends of Wellington Park but on an excellent Spring Fayre as always with over 60 stalls and a programme of great entertainment.

 

At the Rugby Club there were representatives from more than 10 local sports clubs as well as an inflatable assault course and a pump track.

 

In the evening we has a stunning firework display, also at the Rugby Club.

King Charles III Coronation Celebrations Sunday 7th May 2023. Spring Fayre at Wellington Park, 12:30 to 5pm. A variety of stalls, licensed bar and entertainment. Friends of Wellington Park. Family Fun Day & Fireworks at Wellington Rugby Club from 1:30pm to late. Fireworks 9:30pm approx. Activities from local sporting clubs, assault course, pump track and much more. Food and entertainment from 5pm.

Coronation Art Competition

Wellington Town Council extended our Coronation celebrations and invited all children to take part in an art competition. We are encouraged children to create a piece of art inspired by the Coronation of King Charles III. This art could be in any 2D format up to size A3: as long as we could scan it, we wanted to see it!

All art submitted was uploaded to the gallery below.

Congratulations to the winners of our Coronation Art Competition. Mayor Marcus Barr and Deputy Mayor Catherine Govier loved meeting you all and hope that you continue to make art!

Coronation Art Competition. Young people of Wellington are invited to submit a piece of art inspired by the Coronation of King Charles III. All submitted art will be displayed on this website. Winners from each age group will receive a badge and certificate from the Mayor. Any 2D art medium accepted. Age groups: under 7, 8 to 11. 12 to 16. To submit your art, please email info@wellingtontowncouncil.co.uk or drop into our office at 28 Fore Street. Deadline Friday 19th May.
