Luson Surgery

We have been made aware that patients at Luson Surgery have been advised this morning that the surgery is closing in September and that they will be transferred to Wellington Medical Centre.

The Council was unaware that this was being considered and is concerned about the impact of this decision on the community both now and in the context of the town’s predicted growth. We are seeking urgent meetings with Wellington Medical Centre and senior managers at Somerset NHS Trust to discuss this. The Council will also be discussing this at its meeting on Monday 4 August 2025 starting at 7.00pm at the United Reformed Church Hall, Fore Street.
