18 Nov Announcement – Christmas Market & Lights Switch On 2022
Wellington Town Council are working in partnership with Wellington Produce Market to deliver the biggest Christmas Lights Switch On event in years. After last year’s event cancellation and Covid restrictions the year before, the Council is keen to make Christmas 2022 one to remember with market stalls from 9am, entertainment from 12pm, and the lights switching on at 5pm.
Main stage entertainment will feature local schools and bands including The Ukes of Wellington and Living Light Band. Street entertainers from Fuse Performance Ltd will be out and about too, showing off their magic tricks and giving sweets to children.
Wellington Produce Market have brought together a wide variety of stalls for this event. In addition to their usual traders, there will be a number of community groups as well as craft and gift stalls.
Our Deputy Mayor Nancy Powell-Brace will have the honour of switching on the lights this year with help from two students from Wellington Prep School. Councillor Powell-Brace is looking forward to the event and is excited to see everyone gathered to celebrate.
