06 Dec Star Council Awards Recognition
On Wednesday 28th November our Deputy Mayor Catherine Govier represented us at the National Association of Local Councils Star Council Awards at The House of Lords. Although on this occasion we didn’t win, to be named as one of only five finalists in Council of the Year is an achievement in itself. It is great to be recognised for the work we are doing and gives us a basis on which to keep moving forward. Thank you to the councillors and staff for their hard work and commitment to improving the town and to our partners in the town for their support.
We’re not coming away completely empty-handed though. At last night’s Council meeting, Catherine brought along the certificate that we have been presented with that recognises us as finalists. This will definitely be taking pride of place on the walls of our offices!
Thank you to everyone who voted for us, we will keep working to make Wellington somewhere that we can all be proud of.
